About Lawson Peak:

2 prominent climbing sections, the main wall and blocks forming the peak.
Nearest town or city:
Directions: exit Japatul Valley rd off of the 8 freeway and go south. there are 2 trails which meet at the peak. to get to the longer but much easier trail: continue south on Japatul Valley rd for approx. 6.5 mi. turn left on Carveacre rd and follow it around to the right where you will see a small dirt lot. if you value your car i suggest parking here and walking the rest. if you have a 4wd vehicle, continue up this rd for appro 0.85 mi where you will come to a fork. stay left and on the main rd for another 0.90 mi where there will be another fork. stay to the right this time and go 0.21 mi to another fork. stay left and go all the way up this trail to the peak. you may encounter a locked gate approx 0.16 mi after the last fork. sometimes the adjacent property owner will leave it open if he's feeling nice. to get to the more direct but difficult trail: continue south on Japatul Valley rd from the exit. go 5.5 mi and turn left on Lyons Valley rd. stay on this for 4.92 mi to where you will see a dirt trail on your right. again, you should park here unless you have 4wd. this trail is approx. 2 mi long and will take you straight to the peak.
