Shangri-La
About Shangri-La:
One of the premiere sport walls in Shuteye. Steep climbing on a beautiful streaked wall. The dome and and its summit erratic, "The Doodle" were first named by Royal Robbins. Vaino and Diana Kodas bolted the first route here (Slumber Party - 10d) in the late 80's, but for some reason there was no further development until recently. To approach leave the climbers' camp at the pass, by following the trail that leaves the campfire area (heading away from High Eagle Dome). Follow a well-marked trail for 5-10 minutes until you reach the formation. Walk down the gully to approach the base of the routes. |
