About Skunk Canyon:

Looking for a nice quiet climbing area without the crowds of Eldo or Boulder Canyon or the Flatirons? Skunk Canyon is the place! Four ridges on the north side of the canyon hold some very nice routes, and with a little exploration you may find some first ascent potential on these and some other crags on both sides of the canyon. Most of the established routes are on the west (uphill) faces of the ridges.
Nearest town or city: Boulder
Directions: Follow the Mesa Trail past the Third and when you have passed the old cabin the trail will drop into a valley below the old quarry. Cross the meadow and the trail drops into Skunk Canyon. If you pass the N.C.A.R. Trail you have gone too far. Head up the canyon on some faint trails until you reach the crag you are heading for. Watch for poison ivy/oak in the bottom of the valley during the summer months...it can get quite thick.
