About Garden of the Gods:
Awesome climbing! Sandstone, brittle in many areas - watch for loose rock! By lifetime I mean you can climb all over it and never get bored. Many different levels of climbs. Bouldering allowed. While climbing is free here, you must get a permit at the Visitor's Center before beginning; please observe the restrictions on where you are allowed to climb so that this area remains open to us all. If you are a proficent climber and are at the garden alot we ask that you help to up keep the belay anchors. If you use webbing please make sure it is a close match to the rock. *Note, the east face of Kindergarten rock is usually closed due to raptor nesting during part of the summer - please obey all restrictions in place. |

Directions: | From I-25 in Colorado Springs, take exit 146 (Garden of the Gods Road) west for about 3 miles. At the dead-end, turn left for about 1 mile. Turn right at the Garden Entrance (the GOG Visitor's Center will be on your left). Good luck finding a parking place on the weekends during the summer. Camping is available in cheesy, over-priced nearby RV parks, or.....From the park, turn west onto Rampart Range Road (dirt trail right behind Balancing Rock), there are numerous excellent places to camp, but bring a vehicle with high ground clearance or 4WD. |
