About Deering Canal:

The walls are 12-15 feet of fossilized limestone cut straight through over 50 yrs ago. Landing zone is the canal but there is a 4 foot deep ledge on both sides and a "ladder" cut in on one side by the local bridge jumpers. There is about 600' total of traverse from V0- up to V4 sections. 25% of the traverse is on public land, 50% on land that is abandoned and another 25% on private.
Nearest town or city: Perrine
Directions: Old Cutler Road south of 168th Street, just south of the Deering Estate. There is a huge parking lot. Bridge jumping, although fun, is actually illegal. But I've never seen any one arrested or ticketed there for it.
