About Heise Rock:
| Decent roadside cragging with a few top-grade hard climbs. UPDATE 2006: Last summer the land owner leveled the area surrounding the rock with plans to put in an RV park/campground. In doing so, the base of the wall has been raised about 4'-5' making the first bolt of some routes useless. It also caused a few of the harder routes to be downgraded a letter. Heise is and will be open to climbers as long as they pick up after themselves and don't trash the place. The place isn't an aesthetic crag at all but does offer local climbers a variety of challenging sport routes. |
