About Moscow Mountain:
Moscow Mountain is the highest peak of the Palouse range, standing at 4,983 feet. It is a major recreation area for the entire palouse area with mountain biking, hiking, ORV riding, CC skiing, snowshoeing, and even a little climbing. Roads cover the entire mountain and the summit can be reached after a short, trailess hike through trees and brush. It's a major hangout spot for U of I and WSU students. |

Directions: | From Moscow, drive North on 6th St until you reach Mountainview Road. Turn Left and follow this road out into the country. After a while turn right on a poorly signed "Moscow Mountain Road." Follow this road all the way, ignoring other turn offs, to the mountain. The USGS quad would be helpful for finding your way around. (Passenger cars can make this drive in dry conditions). |
