About Hemlock Cliffs:
Hemlock Cliffs is always occupied with rappellers or people seeking the outdoors. It is maintained by the NFS (Hoosier National Forest). This area has a wide variety of climbing... bouldering, and rock climbing on chossy stone.. ACCESS: The only restricted areas are the 2 main waterfalls. Climbing and Rappelling are off limits in these areas. Check the board in the parking lot for updates on restrictions. DRINKING WATER: Bring your own water!!! Do not filter water from streams. Hemlock Trees grow in the area and release a poisoness chemical into the water. TOPO MAPS: Every topo map published only lists 2 miles of trail. There are more within the park! Mezmer Cliff is not listed on any map, but will show up on a topo and if you ask the right local they can give you directions. We can not list everything on this site, you must find the climbing off the beaten path on your own. CAMPING: Camping in the parking lot area is permitted. Some like to camp down in the canyon along the stream. Camping anywhere on NFS land is allowed as long as you are 300ft from the trail and 100ft from the stream or cliff.
