Right in the middle of Blodgett campground is a decent house-sized boulder with some excellent problems. You can even set up a top rope using the tree that is up against the boulder... and use the same tree to get down. |
Approach: | Take US-93 South from Missoula for 42.6 miles to Bowman Rd in Ravalli County, just before the bridge and welcome sign to Hamilton. Turn right on Bowman road, just past an industrial gravel yard. Drive a short distance on Bowman road then take Ricketts Rd to the left for 6.6 miles. The road will make a sharp right and you will continue West (towards the mountains) to a four-way stop. Continue on Blodgett Camp Rd for 6.6 miles, after making several turns you will finally arrive at the parking lot, with the entrance walls off the amazing Blodgett Canyon looming above you! Walk over the bridge, or find a campsite, and enjoy the boulder while contemplating the big walls above you in the canyon! ... or you can just google "Blodgett Canyon Campground!" |
