About Lamoille Canyon:
Lamoille Canyon is a surprising and spectacular place in the Ruby Mountains just south of Elko. It has a strange blend of rock - some of which is granite reminiscent of Boulder Canyon, and some of which is overhanging choss that yield's some very hard sport routes. A lot of development work has been done in recent years. Trad climbing is rare in the canyon due to the lack of good cracks for protection. Several new trad routes along with about 30 new sport routes have been added in the last 2 years. Lamoille Canyon is also home to some excellent ice climbs with the potential of having some of the tallest ice found west of Colorado. A new guide book has been printed!!! Get yours today! |
