About First Creek Canyon:
First Creek Canyon is home to some of the most amazing adventure climbing in Red Rocks. Although its popularity resides mostly with the Lotta Balls Wall, the other areas included in this canyon are well worth checking out.
Access: Access to First Creek is via a trail directly off SR 159 (Charleston) about one mile south of the exit of the loop road. There is a sign on the road. Park in the pullout and head straight back toward the canyon. The approach is long, but flat. When to climb: First Creeks crags are all north facing, so they are warm weather climbs. The larger climbs on Mt. Wilson, however, are south and east facing, so plan accodringly. Classics: Lotta Balls, Lady Wilson's Cleavage, Gin Ricky, Lucky Nuts Update: Due to the large number of routes and their nature, all of the routes in the Mount Wilson section have been moved to their own area.
