About Whitehorse Ledge:

Whitehorse Ledge has a little something for everybody. The sister crag to North Conway's Cathedral Ledge, Whitehorse is quite different in character and compliments Cathedral quite well.

From the immaculate sweeping friction of the slabs, to the steep smearing and face climbing of the Echo Roof area, to the excellent face and crack climbs on the South Buttress, you will be sure to find a climb to suit your liking. Many of the climbs are quite intimidating, with heady run-outs and thought provoking route finding, but there are also well protected classics.

Descents can be made by following the trail to either side of the top of the cliff, or by rapelling from the top of the numerous one pitch base routes on the cliffs left side. In questionable weather, it is best to bring a second rope in case retreat becomes necessary.

Cliff sections are listed from right to left, as they will be encountered from the approach trail.

Nearest town or city: North Conway
Directions: From the West Side Road, turn in at the sign for the White Mountain Hotel. Follow the road to the first right, then, just before it veers left to the hotel parking lot, continue straight to the climber's parking, located on both sides of the road before the gate for the maintenance building. Walk up to the Hotel parking lot and locate a trail at the far right end that brings you to the base of the slabs after a couple minute walk. Follow the trail to the left for climbs on the South Buttress.
