About Hermit Peak:

Substantial granite walls with unlimited potential for new routes. Very few established routes. A major trad area.
Nearest town or city: Las Vegas (NM)
Directions: Hermit Peak is located in northern New Mexico about 20 miles northwest of Las Vegas (NM). (All GPS grid coord are prefix N35. & W105). Drive to Hot Springs area, at 6530-2949 fork right, at 6589-3365 fork right, through Gallinas village 6804-3528, at Povenir Rd 6910-3777 two rights, park at campground at 7102-4123. Hike NE of the lodge 5 miles to get to peak through severe canyon; trad climbing on both side; peak is on the right. Or Hike South of lodge 5 mi into Porvenir Canyon for more trad climbing on left or right. Hike, pick a line and go for it. Tons of 100 to 800 foot walls.
