Camp Lejeune's Courthouse bay, located by the back gate, has recently built a new gym, with an EntrePrise Climbing wall in the center of the gym floor. It's a really good wall with plenty to do, good people who operate the place and an enthusiastic clientel.
The wall is about 25' high, with automatic belay devices as well as regular ropes. No class in necessary to use the automatic belay, and classes for belay certification are Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at luchtime, or whenever you can catch one of the staff. You are required to wear the harnesses that they provide, but they are good harnesses (Metolious Safety) and in good condition.
The wall features a lot of features, feature routes, two cracks, one layback and one awesome handcrack, as well as overhangs, aretes and your regular "bunny slopes."

| Directions: | From the main part of Camp Lejeune, take Sneeds Ferry Rd south to the 172 shortcut just past the Ammo Depot. Turn right and follow the road all the way into Courthouse bay. The gym is on the left about 3/4 of a mile (four or five speed bumps) in an obvious new glass and steel building. |
