About Richards Knob:
Eight foot tall boulder that's about 35' wide on it's largest face. |
Nearest town or city: | Asheville |
Directions: | Drive North out of Asheville on the Bluegrass Parkway about twenty miles until you can turn left toward the Craggy Gardens picnic area. This turn has a small, grassy median in it and is fifty yards in front of an orange and white gate. After making the left turn, go up the hill maybe 1/2 mile to a three way intersection at an open, level spot. Park the car, or bicycle, and head up the mountains to sea trail back toward Asheville. Take fifty paces and look for the small foot path on the right leading to the extremely steep boulder. |
