About Sunset Park:

Small crag on Beech Mountain I discovered the other day. It's located towards the top of the mountain in a small neighborhood park (that's really more of an overlook than a park) on the side of the ski slopes opposite from the side you first see when you drive up. There are a couple of trad routes and some toproping. Some of the routes still have a good bit of lichen on them, but I'm in the process of cleaning them off. It's not the best crag around, but if you're on Beech Mountain or just feeling adventurous you should check it out. There are also some dumpy boulders scattered around so have fun exploring the surrounding woods. I'll be posting more info in the weeks to come.
Nearest town or city: Beech Mountain
Directions: Keep going straight past Ski Beech and soon you'll start going back up hill. Follow the road through some hairpin turns until you see the park.

Access Issues: I've never had any hassle, but there are houses nearby so just keep noise down and don't litter. Also there is limited parking, maybe 2 0r 3 cars, but that shouldn't be a problem as the park is most always empty.
