About Johns Wall:
| This is an area about two miles West of Chandler park, on Avery Dr. There is a good sized parking area on the right side of the road with a couple trees in the center of it... Johns wall is across the road. This was a favorite haunt for climbers back in the 1970s. Tom Saunders, Chris Mathews, Terry Andrews, Sam Audrain, Marion Hutchison, and others spent many hours climbing just about everything they could on the front and back of "Dihedral Wall" (as it was called then). Many topropes, leads, and solos took place here and very few routes were named. |
