About Prospect Rock:

Quite possibly the worst climbing area in the world. The only reason I put it in is to warn people from going to it. Many climbers have heard about this spot because it was in an old Pennsylvania climbing guidebook. People seek it out and are dissapointed. I put it in this database just in case anyone has the book and decides to venture out to Prospect. That being said, there are about 5 climbs/boulder problems here. The rock is a loose, frail, disgusting sandstone that is shrouded in insects, lichen, dirt and other assorted climber unfriendly gunk.
Nearest town or city: Gouldsboro
Directions: Located off the main hiking Trail in Promised Land State Park. Park at the first lot, when you are driving in from the main entrance take the first hiking trail on your right and walk down it about 10 minutes. You will come to a small rock band on the trail.
