About Pole Steeple:

On top of a ridge in Michaux State Forest just outside of Pine Grove Furnance State Park. Approximately 1/2 mile uphill (25-30 minutes) from the Pole Steeple trail parking lot. An interesting split outcrop 60+ feet high w/ an incredible view. It is right off of the AT so it could be worked in nicely with a weekend BPing trip or a stay in PGF State Park (there are several other sites within a 30 min drive - Hammond, Sunset, Coroner's Slab). There are quite a few routes up the blocky outcrop. There is a possibility you can run into group programs here such as Outward Bound using it for Tyr. Traverses (steeple to steeple) and rappelling, so be prepared to be inventive with your route selections.
