About Palisades:

This is a long band of sandstone up to 165' tall and is located across the gorge from the Fall Creek Falls scenic loop road. It can be viewed from several of the overlooks before you reach Buzzards Roost/Miliken's Overlook.
Approach: The best approach is to come in on hwy 30 from the north and park just before the park boundary. There is a fire road just inside the boundary, follow this road all the way to an open field with a shooting range. Walk across the field, past the range and continue in pretty much the some direction. Eventually you will find yourself on a ridge, stay on this ridge until you start descending. You can either continue to a waterfall and rap off one of the many trees or follow a large gully down and left to the base.
