About Laurel Falls:

Laurel Falls has been said to possess the best sandstone anywhere: Pure white, bullet-hard, perfectly smooth waves of rock. The texture is unbelievably sticky and it's hard to imagine better sandstone anywhere else. This area is sometimes over-shadowed by the bigger Buzzard Point area across the canyon, but the rock there is the inferior, browner sandstone that it typical to the area. Laurel Falls sees little traffic as it is well off the beaten track and contains relatively few climbs. With that said, the area near the Falls has some of the best hard sport routes and a few gear routes, too. The location is absolutely beautiful and the climbing is very difficult.
