About Bryce Canyon:

Bryce is a beautiful place but the rock quality is horrible. All decomposing limstone and sandstone that generally won't even hold body weight.
Nearest town or city: Bryce Canyon
Directions: NE of St. George (and Zion). It is easiest to drive to the south end of the park and then stop at the pullouts on the way back to the visitor's center. Unfortunately, if you want to see Bryce, you will mainly be hanging out at the tourist spots. Day hikes and the pullouts give you the best views of the hoodoos. The backcountry hikes / camps are in pine forest and you don't get to see the cool parts of Bryce.
