About Shangri La:
This is a new and developing area with lots of hard route potential. For several years a band of local climbing rats have cleaned and put up some sweet routes in secrecy, hence the cliffs name Shangri La (remote idyllic hideaway). Difficult to desperate sport routes and an a few trad routes on beautiful schist. For those looking for some boulder problems this is one of the only quality places in the area although problems are dirty and undeveloped. Tread lightly as access could become a serious problem with the surrounding property owners. RESPECT! |
