About Crabtree Falls:
Host to the highest waterfalls east of the divide. Though a splendid view, it offers subpar rock climbing, as there are better areas very close, such as Love Gap or Ravens Roost. The time is climb here is when the falls freeze during winter - the uppermost cascade is nearly 100m of climbing. Parking is an honors system of $3 dollars per day. |

Directions: | Crabtree is about 90 minutes from Lynchburg and 30 minutes from Waynseboro. From Lynchburg take US 29 N to VA 56 East. The hike to the rocks is about 10 to 15 minutes and almost always parallels the falls. |
