Beginner Slab
About Beginner Slab:
This is the main beginner area. This area is sometimes off limits because the local guide service uses it. The climbs range from 50ft to 70ft in height, and faces east to the morning sun. |
Approach: | Just past (east) and downhill of the Plunge overlook, the yellow-blazed trail ends, splitting into the Blackrock Trail and the Brimstone Trail. Go right, and switchback downhill on the Brimstone Trail. After a few minutes, the smooth Beginner Slab will be visible off to the right. A bit of steep dirt scrambling leads up to the ledge at its base. Note that "The Crack" & "Frayed" can be reached by cracks from the base of The Cracks area. The climbs are listed from right to left. |
Approach Time: | 15 minutes from parking area. |
