About Little Stony Man:
Shenandoah Nat'l Park has several climbing areas spread along it's length. Most climbs are described in the Virginia guide books. (virginiapine) Except that the topos in Jeff Watson's are nearly incomprehensible and far from comprehensive, while Horst's guide ignores all SNP areas other than Old Rag. Little Stony Man Cliff is a great top roping area for beginners. Plenty of room. some very easy climbs and a few difficult ones as well. Cliffs can read 100+ feet but toproping is easy for all climbs, just make sure you have a long rope. |
