About Hanging Rock:
| Hanging rock battle field trail snakes back to a cliff face. Very easy hike in and great access trails to the top of the cliff. 3 sets of 3 bolts atop the cliff with other random bolts scattered throughout. Worth checking out because of ease of access. |

| Directions: | Google map "Hanging Rock VA" and it will be right beside the parking lot. It's at the end of 419 after the entrance and exit ramps to I-81 are but before it becomes 311. The road is Dutch Oven Rd and the parking lot is 50 yards down the road on the left. Follow the gravel trail under the bridge and continue on 100 yards till you see the cliff on your left. Follow the trail all the way around the cliff for easy access to the top. |
