About Little Piney Canyon:

Creekside cragging on good (slightly dirty) Bighorn dolomite in the foothills of the southern Bighorns outside of the small town of Story. There is a mixture of sport and trad. The routes are generally enjoyable and the setting is pleasant; this is the place to be on hot summer evenings as its entirely shaded from late afternoon on.
Nearest town or city: Story
Directions: Story is somewhat confusing to navigate...entering town from the north (Sheridan) turn right at the gas station...continue straight (toward the Fish Hatchery) at the only obvious intersection (has the wooden signboard)... stay on this main paved line past several 90-degree turns until a park is seen on the right... continue strainght on the red dirt road marked with the green 'youth camp' sign... there is a gate at the end barring further vehicular progress...park and follow the old roadbed through private property until it turns into the well-beaten trail... the climbing starts a couple hundred yards after the Forest Service land is entered where the trail drops along the creekside.
