About Deep Lake:

Probably the second most popular area in the Winds (after the Cirque). Deep Lake includes Haystack Mountain (more of a long ridge than anything), Steeple Pk., Temple, East Temple, and East Temple Spire. Approach from Big Sandy Opening as for the Cirque, but break right just after Big Sandy Lake. The Deep Lake cirque has a chain of beautiful lakes; most will want to basecamp near Deep Lake itself (the second one). Deep Lake classics include Major and Minor Dihedrals, Central Corner, and the N. Ridge of Steeple. There is a fair bit of new-route potential on the north faces of the Temple group, if you can stand daylong shade.
