Mountain Guide Lakpa Rita Sherpa Set to be First Sherpa to Climb Seven Summits - 2009-02-12 by boo turner

Next week, Lakpa Rita Sherpa, a Shoreline, WA mountain guide and climbing ambassador for Sherpa Adventure Gear, will be making his bid to climb the seventh of the Seven Summits, Mount Kilimanjaro. Assuming he is successful on or about February 13th, he will be the first Sherpa to have stood atop the world's highest peaks, even though the Sherpa people are well-known for their high altitude accomplishments guiding others to the summit of Everest and other Himalayan peaks.
