In reply to: Clearly, according to the account above a culture which depends on buddy checking even involving climbing professionals has its drawbacks and is not 100% safe since nobody appears to have noticed the check was missed.
And that I don't understand. Are you saying that buddy checking is fallible because we may forget to do it?
