wow nice, I like it how the ladders are taped. Just in case you couldnt figure out what rung to grab next, look for the green/yellow combo!

qwert wrote: also how is this stuff insured? Unlike normal climbing, via ferrata falls are almost always really dangerous (hard catch, getting caught with your ankle in a ladder on the way down and so on ...) If you look closely, they are all either on toprope or "leading" using the pig's tails.

it looks like there is some standard indoor gym stuff. and the wall looks like a decent height at least. some people are really into climbing trees, some into climbing ladders, some into climbing rocks. I don't judge...

I only judge because the creation of a Via Ferrata is to allows otherwise isolated routes to be joined to create longer routes which are accessible to people with a wide range of climbing abilities. Not to train on like a gym... These things are supposed to be for people to get to the top of a mountain for the view.... no other reason. so why indoors..... takes all the purpose away in my mind.

Good thing those folks having fun in the photos aren't privy to your mind - their day would have been spoiled had they known their fun was not the right reason. If they are enjoying it, and the gym owner is able to make a profit, what's the problem?

Interesting. Sorry, this error does preclude you from being considered for the PTFTW trophy that might otherwise be due to you. (No matter how unfair that might be.) (Of course, it is fair if you're using one of those scripts to create automatic ones. )

Seems pointless to me, but then again outdoor Via Ferrata seems pointless to me too.

I'll bet it's really fun and exciting for non-climbers, rather like a ropes course: a bit of the thrill of heights, some interesting gear, and not too much effort.
