So someone just gave me some rope, but i have no idea what kind. both ends are pretty frayed up, but i can melt those down. But i dont know if it is dynamic or static. are there any tell-tale signs of dynamic rope.

I agree with jajen, Go and buy a rope. Their is no sacrifice for safety. You know I have this shirt that says " Famous last words, Hey watch this" " I probably wont be taking any major falls " sounds like one of those famous last word quotes to me.

However, if you want to continue anyway, I'd suggest using this way I've linked below to achieve death faster. Everything looked truck to me. Just think of the money he could make if he put all his ideas in a book and sold it. I'd be first in line for that book. To think of the money I could have saved making my own gear. Priceless. Thanks Bill.

But i dont know if it is dynamic or static. are there any tell-tale signs of dynamic rope. Of course, we all know no one is stupid enough to use that rope for anything resembling real climbing. However, if you want to continue anyway, I'd suggest using this way I've linked below to achieve death faster. The only downside I can see if that it's a bitch to sew yer own harness. http://www.youtube.com/...ture=player_embedded Thank goodness for thread revival - I missed this - and it's something you really don't want to miss!

"I don't know much about mountain climbing or anything like that but...my logic is if you can't get down, you probably can't get back up. So be really careful about where you rappel."
