I know there are a bunch of routes with funny names. But, there's also a ton of routes with frightening names, names that make you think twice before climbing, like- "Gray Matter" Foster Falls, TN (if you fall you spill your brains!)

nice collection of moderately scarey names. Hold on to your hats, kiddies... in Queen Creek Canyon there is a 5.11c named..... (drum roll please)... The Pope's Penis. we return you now to your regualarly scheduled broadcast.... ---Ford--- p.s. there's also an almost never climbed route at Camelback called the Monk's Ass. Name isn't too scary, but the tale of the first ascent sure is!

Yeah, the Gunks have lots of good ones: One blunder and it's six feet under; Finger locks or cedar box; Make haste or tomato paste. They crack me up! GO

A route at a local crag is named "childrenless future" (my translation.) Ominous or promising? The former I guess...

Crack of Doom Chuck Pratt & Mort Hempel, 1961, Yosemite "Only 5.10a," but all kidding aside, most 5.14 climbers these days wouldn't make it up the thing. Here's a trip report, I like the quote about the rack: "Gear includes 2 shoes (a left AND a right), a chalk bag and 1 No. 16 Camalot" www.ai.sri.com/~herson/climbing/tr/doom.html
