Well If your going through Montana your going to need a place to stay in Billings... Its the big city in Montana. We have a couch and alot of floor space to be slept on. Ill take you out to the local Sandstone choss pile, perhaps we could cruise down to Devils Tower in Wyoming, or up to the Bozeman area. Trad is more or less the name of the game, though sport and bouldering is game on too. Just let me know via email or this site or whatever when your passing through Im always on the look out for a reason to go climbing!

Well, sense there are literally hundreds of us in and around the Yosemite area. May I suggest you let us all know when you're coming to the area so we can ALL hook up and share some sites in Camp 4. A sorta Rockclimbing.noob sushi fest if you will. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would be willing to take you up a wall, show you the back country stuff and the vast number of obscure micro (climbing) communities we have round these parts. Ya gotta get here soon though (like by early November), or I'd wait until late May mid June. Otherwise it's all cragging and things tend to slow down a lot.

Yo Sun, There are plenty of places to catch ice and rock where I live, many within a 1/2 hour drive of my house. Let's climb bro. Tim

Is this a postcount++ thredd? Oh hell, come to Arizona. The locale depends on the season. We have everything here. If it's anytime between April and November or so, you get Flagstaff and my flowery guest room. Otherwise, I'll meet you in Phoenix, but let Curt know you're coming for his floor and his $500 single malt. Heh. Do expect me to have you rip Fat Bastard lines in an exaggerated accent while I clap like a seal. Us Yanks amuse easily.

sungam wrote: Alright guys, plans are set, I'm coming to the US! WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The limits on where I'm going? NONE. I have a full year to spend however I choose and right now I'm choosing climbing! I'm not lying when I say I want to climb with EVERYONE from this site, and many other people too! (okay, maybe not everyone. Sorry chossy). So here's the deal, I'm making no plans! All I wanna know is who is up for a banter. When I say a banter, I mean anything from me being a subbie on some 2X pitch death aid route (your lead! ) to boulder bitching in the shadow of a mountain. I want to experiance everything from you're local climbing and culture to your personal views on anything and everything. I seriously don't care who you are, we could have had a pissing match in some thread or many, I could have told you that you're a pig [censored]ing [censored] sucker, I'll still climb with you, and I guarantee we'll have a fuckin' blast. Fuck, I'll even clip bolts next to handcracks- I just want to experiance the local experiance! So anyone (and I mean ANYONE) who is up for climbing, bantering, partying, WHATEVER (sorry, I don't do gangbangs* or drug deals) and doesn't mind me sleeping on your floor on a 7cm thermarest post UP. All I need to know is your location, how long I can crash with you, and anything else you want to tell me. I'll prolly contact you through this site. Stage one is taking place over the next month, when I'll be hitting up anyone and everyone in the UK. I'm willing to hit gogarth, pabbay, even the peak. After that it's over stateside. So I can semi-plan or think about routes I can take around the country let's get a few names in early. The only solid plans I have are hitting Ourey for the fest and climbing with mr Angry in the desert around new years, and climbing in NC with whomever next month (or whenever my f*cking passport comes through). Let's get this year long climbing party started! If you make it to Squamish next summer we'll rope up.

Not a PC++ thread. =) really is just a planning of a trip thread, though I will admit it's not hurting. and $500 single malt... that's like £35 over here, right?

I forgot to add I might make some excursions into canadia. But not necessarily. That might come next summer. And maybe after that, down under. And maybe after that south america, and mexico, and europe should be in there somewhere. The mind boggles and the potential of this site! I would have to think the limiting potential would be your bank account.

If you come to the Gunks, I hope you like big roofs (or at least know how to prussik). It sounds like you are going to miss the best season up here unless you come here first and you get pretty lucky with the weather. Spring is pretty good too, but tends to rain more. Josh Josh

You can go where the blue skies are all year round. Wasn't there a van in BC that needed rescuing????

Hmm, check the DMV's in the states you are visiting - passing a test ain't hard, but having the right paperwork sometimes is...a drivers license here is almost like having residency rights, so they are strict about who can get one. Some may do temporary ones for visitors, but I'll bet some states will make it impossible for you to get a license. When I first moved here, I couldn't get a license without a social security number and address - I couldn't get a social security number without a visa and an address, I couldn't get an address without a government issued ID, I couldn't get gas and electricity without a social security number and I couldn't get a credit card without existing credit. It's a bastard, and Joseph Heller would be proud.

if you make it to the North central area, hit me up. I'm in MN and even though we don't have mountains, we have a copious amount of really big bluffs and valleys. over 400 sport and trad climbs within 2 hours of Minneapolis/St Paul, and I've hit just about every one of them. Bouldering? got it. Deep water solo? got it (even though lake superior is cold as fuck). badass sport and trad climbing? got it. we even have polka music fests like every month.....you know....if you're into that sorta thing....which I'm hoping your not. in anycase, let me know if you're in the area, I'd love to show you around. also, no matter where you go on your trip...I'm sure I don't need to say this, but...lots of pictures, lots of video :D
