Sierra Nevada Wheat Beer (I live in Chico, so I love SN), SN Pale Ale, SN Crystal Wheat, Newcastle, Fat Tire, Coopers Pale Ale (from Down Under), Singhai (Thai beer), Corona, Butte Creek Brewing Co. Gold Ale (another Chico local beer). Right now, I have a case of Fat Tire, SN celebration ale, and Newcastle. In my apartment, we have a fridge devoted only to alcohol. Eat your hearts out.

A frosty Sammy Smith Oatmeal Stout is yummy. Hieniken from the brewery in Amsterdam is pretty hard to top, especially when they give you an hour after the tour to get your fill, then again maybe it was just the cotton mouth from touring some of the coffee shops prior that made it so tasty. Friktion

Chimay Ale in the bottle with the blue label. Brewed by Trappist Monks (whatever that means). Post climbing or post anything this is what I choose. A little spendy, but well worth it.

In reply to: Can we limit this by saying "best universally available beer"? I'm just waiting for all the CO and Northwesterners to pipe up with their "Slap yer Momma Super Nutty Rotting Carcass Honey Porter" and other obscure beers that only 3 counties in the US even offer... :D LIMIT IS RIGHT! DAMN! i mean, sam adams? pfffffffffffff. no need to be a playa hayta just cuz you can't get RUINATION IPA!11 northwesternhops4lyfe!1

Nothing beats a coopers pale ale - except maybe a [brown]coopers dark ale[/brown] on occasion! mmmmmmmmmmmmmm but, you can only get it in australia - although i did find it in a pub in san fran once - made my night :D but i can also attest to Fat Tire.... and add Magic Hat as well.

Man, I can't believe nobody's mentioned Kokanee! One of the greatest things in the world is to kick back at the end of a long, hard day and get all Koked up.

It's a toss between Fat Tire, Dos Equis amber, or good old C&L (Corona and lime).

On the cheap and drunk I would have to say Steel Reserve though it tastes like crap if its warm, and even when its cold too. When I have money (not too often): Pacifico St. Pauli Girl anything Marin or Mendocino Brewing Co.'s and a Carlsberg Dark if I can get my hands on it.
