5'5'' and 130lbs. I've lead up to 11d sport and done a couple 12b/c on TR. Also do V6 pretty regularly. Some say that height is a factor but I have never found it to be a big problem, and if I have, it just makes me train that much harder!

is somebody going to quantify all this? that would make it useful info. however, it would really need to be pointed out what people weighed when they did their hardest climb, right. i weigh 175 and climbed my hardest routes at around 160-165, which seemed to matter. at 6'1", 163: 13b or c rp 13a or b trad 12c or d os 12b or c os trad slash ratings in case they've been downrated, which is likely since everything seems to get downrated eventually. what i'd really like to see is who's climbed the hardest at a highest weight? that's an interesting stat. now where'd i put my beer!

In reply to: is somebody going to quantify all this? that would make it useful info. Unfortunately, the original question was not asked in a way that would allow for meaningful results to be determined. One could put together a survey instrument that would provide meaningful results. If anyone is seriously interested in the project, let me know by PM. Someone would need to be willing to draft a questionnaire and host it on a website. I would be willing to consult on questionnaire design and do the statistical analysis. I think the results would be interesting. It would be interesting to know how important height and weight and really are in climbing. However, to determine this a certain amount or research sophistication would be required. I can help with the project if someone is willing to take the lead. We might get an article in R and I or Cimbing out of it. It could even lead to a publishable paper in a peer-review journal for someone in the appropriate field. -Jay

5'8" / 185 / 25 have toproped as hard as 12d...outside. onsight a hand full of 5.10a two being at seneca (my lifetime goal when i started climbing was onsighting one 5.10 anywhere and it was just a dream back then and was that way for 4to 5years now). onsight sport last time i remember 5.10b. hardest redpoint 5.11d. made it to the top of a 12a at red river gorge called twinkie with only 4 or 5 hangs at bolts at and after crux that one is really overhung just thought i would through that in there so you don't think i am just a slab rat or crack junkie 'i do love those to though'. haven't done to much sport in the last couple years though to know what i can onsight. takes a difrent mentale attidue for me to get gun ho for them and the right partner. the only time i have bouldered with a 'boulder' he sayed i was flashing solid v2 consistintly ' only climb with him 4 one day about 6 or 7 hours solid'. i suck climbing in a gym. and as much and as many places i have been i suck pretty much outside to. wich brings me to no point of why i can explain why i love climbing.

5'10" 190 lbs climbing for 8yrs Bouldered-v11 Sport- 13c/d, onsight 12c Trad- 12c, onsight 11a(Both at Vedauwoo, WY) These are my best efforts, not my consistant level, nor even what I'm at right now. I would say right now I could do: boulder v8/9 Sport 13a/b, onsight 12a/b trad- maybe 11, onsight 9 I haven't done any trad harder than 5.10 in 4 years, so that may be a little off.

Is someone going to compile all this information and come up with an optimal height*weight/climbing ability ratio?
