Glad to hear you had fun. The eyebrows are something else to get used to, huh? That is a nice area to climb and just a bit further than the rrg.
The ecp is going to stone over easter. I think I am going.

It might be helpful if you put some info in your profile - sometimes even the most basic info works.

Anyone interested in checkin' out some big SWPA ice video highlights, go to www.wildfilmproductions.com > CINEMA. Added some clips from 2006-2007 ice season. The 'Beast' (Griz,Brint) and the 'Sick-le' (Tim,Doyle). Also completed a photo-book highlighting the 'Ridge' - new bouldering area up here near C'ville - that is available as a download-able (?) eBook. Thanks.

I had to skim them really fast because I'm at work but those look pretty damn sweet. The ice is impressive.

I'll check the pics in a minute.
I was at the mill sunday. There were a few topropes up but I was bouldering. Alot of the routes were climable although the rock was cold and there was ice here and there. Ross boulder looked ok but had ice around it on the ground. There was a group there from sru.
Spring is here and we will be getting out soon.

Speaking of Coopers the gate opened yesterday. As far as bolts @ Coopers goes thats probably never gonna happen. I believe that the CRRCC (coopers rock regional climbers coalition) has been trying to get bolts/shuts @ top of blocks to prevent further tree damage. The state park caters to tourons who like to break glass bottles on the rocks and hump each other in the woods. Pick up the new bouldering guide if you've never been as the best spots are often the hardest to find. Also, when you check the weather remember that Coopers is 5-10 degrees colder than Morgantown.

I don't like the broken bottles, but what the hell's wrong with a little quality time in the woods?!? Any park that caters to that sort of activity should be praised.

It's these tasty snails we have...I think they are an aphrodisiac or something. (If u don't know about the 3-toothed snail don't ask (yes, even snails in WV are short on teeth)).

Just got out of the Grand Canyon. Spent two nights at the campground just off of the Colorado. Hike took 4.5 hours down the South Kaibab trail (7 miles, 4800 feet). Came up today on the Bright Angel trail in 7 hours (9.5 miles). We've done 45+ miles so far this trip. Ouch. Hopefully I have enough juice left to climb at Red Rocks tomorrow...

There must have been a giant bus driving from Pittsburgh to Coopers on Sunday, April 6. I saw many people that I haven't seen in years. When we were first getting some ropes ready, there was a little kid crying and a dog barking. We feared the worst.

However, it was a delightful day. It never warmed up that much. Ray fought me for my belay coat!

There were ropes everywhere, and it was easy to climb into oblivion, which I did.

I'll try to list some of the people I saw there.

Jim Shurr & his daughter Melissa from Porterville
Christian Mason, his daughter Alex and girlfriend Rainy.
Bill & Amy Bose
Charles & Annie Jones & their lovely daughter Beatrice
Bill & Judy Forester, Hank Jaffe.
Scott Ridenour, Dale & wife from Erie, Joe from WV
Ray Tuttle
Toni, Shawn, Chuck's friend Chris & son
Elizabeth & Bob Barrow, Claudia
A mess of young people from Pitt
Boulderers up the wazoo

Where was John Popp?

It actually was a great time, and I hope a great time was had by all. I never stopped grinning, although it was my typical first day: not nearly as strong as I want to be.

Anybody have time to climb any weekday?

Wish I did. But, looking ahead to the weekend - does anyone want to climb this weekend - New or Red (or Blue or Green or anywhere)? I have been cooped up inside working for the past two weekends (well, not all the time - did manage to get out for 2-3 hr road ride yesterday) - and *must* climb outside soon.

I'll be up there today and possibly tommorow.....gonna be working on building anchors (not a noob, just finished 2nd edition anchors and wanna try some tips out) and perfecting my cinch TR setup. Look for me on Mr. Clean or around there.

NOTE: I work/live 10 minutes from Coopers so anyone going after work (I usually leave 3-4) on any given day can usually PM me on here if they need a partner.

Girlfriend and myself, Beau and anyone else that may decide to join us.

Unfortunately I can't get there until late Friday night because I have a business trip to Chicago and get back (to Pittsburgh airport) Friday around 7 or 8.

Sucks that there won't be as many people but at least the lines to the kegs won't be as long Cool

I saw truello and beau plus a few other young folks at the mill today. I did my easy route twice and belayed my friend on a few more. It was a lovely warm spring day. I had a great time. I watched these young folks make 5.9 look easy. I was making 5.5 look like a workout. I've had dinner and now drinking a beer.

It's about heart and fun and not numbers, right?

Was such a beautiful day, the routes were only wet deep inside the holds.
