Sort of off topic....

Out of curiosity, anybody in WI ice climb? I'm gonna be home (Milwaukee) for winter break and have always wanted to check out what exists for ice down in WI, likely at Gov. Dodge and a few other places. I'm gonna be around from just before Christmas to mid to late Jan, so stuff might just develop. Anybody interested?

Really? I was thinking that was when the conditions started getting really good at many of the sandstone areas. Nothing like 40 degrees and sunny for sending.

I'll be up for going on the 18. Though I have to work on the 19, I'll see if I can fix that. You better not bail on the 24 organic!

Hey everyone!

el_capitan and I (and probably a few others from MN) are heading down to Devil's Lake from Oct. 17 - 19 - we are probably leaving the Twin Cities early Friday morning. Where are you guys camping? Drop me a PM and maybe we can meet up on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Climb on!

I started to add in if other people besides the rc.com members will be there, so people don't think that if they go there will only be that person there, popular spots are no worry there were always be people there but you know what I am saying.

It seems things are in my favor where I may be able to cruise out as well.. Are you all going to be staying in the DL campgrounds, or green valley again? Or maybe where I can plop on someone elses site?

I made a mistake with the dates, I'm going backpacking that weekend. But I'll try and get to the lake the 25th. Although maybe I can convince the people I"m backpacking with to just camp and climb! I'll see what I can do. Because now the 25th is getting ify. I was up at Red Wing this weekend, its not bad.

So, is anyone heading to Devil's lake the weekend of the 18th? It looks like we currently have six people (mostly from MN) for sure, possibly as many as ten. I think 2-3 of us are heading down on Thursday morning/afternoon, and the rest are going to roll in sometime on Friday afternoon/night. If anyone else is planning on going, or wants to join us, just let me know.

Also, most of us have never been to Devil's Lake before. If anyone can recommend some of the better areas to climb, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Craig

I know that climbingspaz is going to be there and I think dancingmadlybackwards will be there.

As far as where to go that depends on what you're looking for, drop me a PM and I can give you some places to go.

Would you guys mind if a n00b tagged-along on the Devil's Lake trip on Oct. 25? I'd love to get some real rock experience before it gets too cold.
