This thread depresses me. At 25 I can't eat ANYTHING bad for me without getting more fat. I can't wait for 35. And I eat all organic, no wheat, no dairy, etc.

Yeah, I was actually thinking about all this again last night. I ate too much all week, and did nothing physical short of walking around the mall, and my usual yoga top did not fit so well in the belly. So I wore a baggy t-shirt. Bad idea. I got a mouthful of shirt everytime we did down-dog. eck. Stupid turkey.

Yech, the same thing has happened to me. I've finally gotten to the point where I (mostly) no longer care about the belly issue and wear something tighter and more functional. Although, now that I'm thinking about it, I should really go do some cardio.

And I eat all organic, no wheat, no dairy, etc. FWIW, I lost at least 10 lbs. at 25 when I gave up on 'diets' and just started eating 3 reasonable squares as per my tastes, and I never gained it back. (I'm 32.)

as for the milk thing... let me just remind everybody that nature's original intention for milk (cow's, goat's, human's, whatever) is to greatly increase the size of baby mammals in a relatively short period of time. that is all.

That actually is congruent with what some research on the effect of dairy products on adult body composition is showing. Those baby mammals mainly need to gain lean body mass, which is what dairy products seem to promote in adult body weight studies, as well. Jay

From a nutritionist point of view...your metabolism slowed down a bit...despite the fact that you are more active, there is a "second puberty" around 23 or so for women.....usually includes slower metabolism and weight gain for slim types that never were....keep an eye on your body fat %....that is the importnat health concern , not scale numbers.....as for muscle...keep activating it, it burns more calories...
