But at least they used a locker! There is that On the flip side it's a remarkably similar size to my BD mini pear locker. Made for a nice back up at the anchors today. You should climb in winter more... coat hangers are a true multi-use piece of gear! Everything from abalakov's to removing boots to cooking dinner over a base camp fire... these things can all be done with coat hangers.

Clearly modern climbing techniques have passed me by. I'm suddenly feeling quite irrelevant, like I'm climbing's Dennis Miller.

Sorry guys, but this is bush league. My friend climbs with a triple rack of cams, and he didn't buy one. He lived the life free soloing 9's in the high sierras armed with a couple nut tools and some wire, picking up gumby droppings. The real masters don't have time to spray on the internets. I've seen him in action and he just has a nose for this stuff. He bootied more gear in one climb than I did all summer. In the past three years I can only claim a purple TCU, red C3, blue master cam, green link cam, purple camalot, green camalot, 3.5" camalot, various friends and friend-like cams ("climb" brand?), loads of nuts, some of which I sold as a complete set, and various things that probably don't count like two ATC guides and some other tubes, various lockers, blah blah... but I'm just a pretender in this game.

Best find to date for me is a BD #3 cam, especially since my rack only goes up to 2. However it was outside in Lofoten (arctic sea cliff) for one possibly 2 winters. Has anyone here ever been worried about the condition of a newly bootied cam? The axles have rusted slightly. Any thoughts appreciated.

So long the axles aren't bent and not rusted out due to salt, I wouldn't worry about the hardware. The sling however...

Ya I have replaced the sling and brushed off the little rust there was and have since been hesitant to add it to my rack.
