I've got TCU's, powercams, old camalots, C4's, and Aliens. I love the variety and I think each cam offers something different.

I currently have: Forged Friends: 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.5 (2), 3, and 4 Metolius TCU: 1-4 Metolius FCU: 6-8 Full set of stoppers I would like to get (and if those with more experience could critique me here): Forged Friend: 3.5 Metolius TCU: 0 (2), 1-4 Metolius FCU: 5 Some larger cams like BD 4 (?), 5-6 Another set of stoppers 4-13 Some of the larger hexes

with the forged friends dont forget to use cordage to make a gunks tie off close to the axle of the cam to reduce leverage in horizontal placements. the metolius cams as well as aliens are great for shallow flaring cracks its good to have smaller sizes of those on hand.

If you're looking for an alpine rock rack, I'd say just aliens and DMMs is perfect. Its what I use. For shorter cragging, I have a blend of BD, DMM, WC, and tricams. But that's because I'm less concerned with weight and more concerned with having the right tool for the job.
As for carefully considering and calculating which cams to get, you will find that all that consideration is worth bugger all on the sharp end, especially if you've got a difficult to operate cam.

I really liked Jay's re-slung TCU's also. Awesome idea actually. He's made me think about doing the same. Saves carrying extra slings.
