Was the last party to start climbing on Cathederal Peak and the first to the summit. Absolutely perfect weather all day - blue skies and a minimum of wind. That last 20 feet certainly left me impressed with John Muir's ascent.

I had a great weekend climbing my first 5.10a and making it to the top. It was only about 30 ft., but the downside was walking down the back of the hill. I got halfway down, lost my footing and twisted my knee and my ankle at the same time. After that I had to walk a half mile to the bus stop. That was in May and my knee is still giving me crap.

The rain starts, the bugs bite, and you can only dream of hot food and a warm bed to sleep in.... The whole story is too much for here, but that my friend is an epic..... Twisting your ankle on a 4 foot wide path is hardly an epic...

Having to bivvy and lost and camping over night as a surprise is epic. Staying lost and wandering the woods even more so.
