I still have a bunch that I love, and feel out of place wearing them sometimes now, cuz not too many others wear them. What happened? my favorite one:

i am always proud to wear the beanie. even when its summer. even when its 100 in the shade and im shirtless, i still have my beanie on. even if the problem im doing is in the baking desert, and every sane person is wearing next to nothing i still have my beanie on. if i should fall one day, into the abyss from which i climbed, i will rest happy, knowing i fell wearing my beanie. thank you, and goodnight.

Excuse my ignorance on this issue, but what does wearing a beanie have to do with bouldering? And why are you proud to wear a ski hat in hot climates? Kinda curious...

Well, since it was a joke, I'll say what I thought the first time I read it: maybe they all grew up and became trad climbers. Let the flames begin....

makes problems at least a grade easier with a beanie.. you gain 15-25% more power while climbing shirtless with a beanie.

If we have seen edge with a bra, we still have to see him with both bra and beanie, and then ask him if his performance is enhanced...

I believe women would see the same benefits as men.. as a side result.. guys in the vicinity might also pull harder trying to impress said sports bra and beanie wearing lass (and perhaps visa versa girls trying to impress shirtless lads hmm crazy)

Beanies at the crag went the way of stripped socks. If this evolution continues - we'll be style'n when EVERYONE is climbing without shirts. -yep I am waiting for a shirtless lass to climb at my local crag whislt I belay!

I heard that all the boulders got together one night, a 'meating' lets say, and had a discussion where each person went in turn and took a huge hit from the bong, then some how all the boulderers lost their beanies.

"Should I wear my beanie or my yarmulke to boulder?" "Striped socks with my EBs or argyle?" "Which designer jeans say 'sport' and which say 'trad'?" "What is the best 400 dollar jacket to wear at IHOP?" "Is my Calvin Klein peacoat appropriate Gunks wear?" You would know the answer to these questions if you had a subscription to a climbing magazine. I bet you are the same bunch that say those periodicals are substanceless pseudo-porn.

That's what I've been missing the whole time! Do you think a sports bra and beanie combo has the same effect, or does the beanie only enhance male performance? The beanie only enhances performance by dulling sensation and thereby increasing endurance. Also, some women don't like beanies, they say they're not natural.

Another sign of global warming. Something must be done before speedos are the only thing left to wear.

Maybe the reason so few boulderers wear weanies these days is the obvious: so few boulderers these days HAVE weanies. Wait, did I misread that?
