Speaking of pictures... I once was told of a picture floating around of charley modeling a leopard print outfit. I wonder where that is? Wink

Marlene should still have it. I lost a bunch of pics when my puter crashed and it was one of them.

Jordan, Brock, et al,

It's not rock season right now, but will be soon. I'll be glad to go out with you. I'll post when I'm going and see who shows up.

Brock, a lot of great rock is in your backyard.

Hi guys. The picture was at Stone Mountain in NC last Easter. Burr, was it cold. We did get some very fun slab climbing in and we ate really good!

I'm not sure why, but my image tag isn't working when I try to post this photo, so I'll just post a link.

Here is the image tag.

RC.com messes up image tags. You can't use them. See the last line where you post the address of your photo? That is the important line.

Click the 'image' button. Paste the address on your last line. Click the 'image' button again, but this time it will say '/image'.

Hit quote to see what I did. You were really close to making it work.

Thanks for finding the pic.

I needed to click the image button twice. I was only clicking it once. I wonder why this forum just doesn't allow you to create your own image tag?

The photo was called "Bill of the Jungle". Yes Bill, you won! All photos of me were burned.

I love the 80's night photos! Only Spyder doesn't look any different than he normally does;) Are you all going to Kendall Cliffs sometime? I've been going to Rockquest down here in Cincinnati. It is pretty cool.

I'm down here in Burlington KY - 2 hours from the Red. Mon and Tues off if anyone makes road trip. The weather has been hit and miss. I climbed last Monday, the weather was beautiful. The rock was really cold on the first climb of the day though.

Have a great day!

I really want to make a trip to the Red, but it won't happen any time in the near future. Glad to hear you got out climbing recently.

I don't think a trip to Kendall Cliffs will happen. No one got excited about that really. I think it would be awesome if we all raided the place with spandex.

Hi Marlene, good to hear from you. Did you get that job in KY that you were hoping for?

After looking to see where Burlington was, I would assume so Wink Congrats. Will give you a call the next time we head to the Red (hopefully soon).

Microbarn = Spyder? If so, we've met a couple times and climbed together at the New once.

I wonder how many other people in this forum I've met/climbed with and didn't know it.

Not the same ppl although they climb together at times. Have you been to the mill lately. I was going to go out yesterday but thought things would be damp from melting ice and snow. I am going to start going to the wall in sru tonight.
Yes Marlene I believe you have pictures of me around but the ones of you got burnt. Did you ever see the movie Joe Kidd. The line that goes One time there was a fire riiiiiggghhhttt.

I was the person in the black spandex with the bright blue shirt. I also had a light blue helmet on when I was leading.

We have met at least once at the NRR, but I forget which year. Marlene was there around the fire in the morning, and in retrospect something made me put it together that you were there during Marlene's and my conversation. Also, I THINK you were at the Seneca Cinco De Mayo party the year I proposed to my wife Lam.

Bill, good luck getting into regular habits at SRU. The group pictured in 80's night is present at the wall on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We usually start around 5 pm, and we go until maybe 8 or so.

Hi Andy - I got the job - how could they possibly resist me?

Been climbing down at the Red every chance I get. I like living so close to such a nice destination. It really isn't bad for a day trip.

Phil - Spyder is the one in the Hawaiian shirt. I don't think Spyder posts to this forum. You met him at the New when we were there. You also met Dan (Microbarn) in the morning around the fire. Me thinks Dan is a little more conservative than Spyder.....

But then, Dan does climb in his pajamas.

Bill, there are pics of the Halloween party on my Myspace page. Not all of them!

It's cold and snowy again today. Again I ask, Why do I still live here. All the ice pob melted yesterday so that would suck for the ice climbers. I haven't done ice but I'm thinking about aid. It was 41 yesterday so I went to the mill. The area behind island block was mostly dry and climable. It is only traversing but it is climbing outside on real rock. I'm not good enough to climb much on the down hill side of island block so I didn't look at it. Most of the routes were damp although most of h&r block was dry under the roof. I should have gone to north carolina and bouldered. It's 60 there.

Looking for a drytooling partner for tomorrow. Monday Jan 11. Temps are going to be cold and the ice isn't formed back up just yet. Been working on some fun projects (due to a less than average ice season.) I know... Wishful thinking, but any takers?Smile Thought I'd try.

Just got back from a long weekend in Joshua Tree, sporting a nice desert tan.

We flew into Ontario international and picked up our rental car and got to the campsite a little after midnight on Thursday. Friday it was very brisk and windy so we opted to do some of the hikes we wanted to do instead, in hopes that the wind would die down. One hike was to the Ryan Mountain summit (1,000 ft over 1.5 mile, pretty easy) and the winds were hitting probably 40mph+ on the peak. The wind died down around 4pm and we went to the Stirrup Tanks area for a couple of short routes and didn't see a single person (was a nice surprise).

Saturday was much nicer (beautifully sunny, 60+ degrees) however my girlfriend/belayer got nauseous all day from migraines that she gets often and was not up to moving around. This was the day I had planned to climb at Hidden Valley and Lost Horse (two of the more popular areas). I was a little saddened that so far 2 days into the trip we didn't get much climbing in and that there was only 1 day left...

However Sunday she felt much better and we headed to Indian Cove and were able to get a lot of climbing in on a beautiful day which I probably should have put sunscreen on. For being a holiday weekend it was surprisingly not crowded at Short Wall and Feudal Wall so we got several climbs in there.

My hands are raw being that I haven't climbed outside since October, and the granite there is very coarse. I definitely want to go back sometime soon because there were so many routes I wanted to get on that I wasn't able to. I also do not lead anything hard yet (my girlfriend does not lead at all) so there are many classics I missed as well.

Ah, the Red River Pump - experienced it after a long time this past weekend. Was pretty good on Saturday - mid 40's, sunny, and no wind. Solar Collector was a very appropriate crag (although got spanked) that day and we had it to ourselves. Sunday was still decent - warmer - till the rain started around noon. Again, had the crag (Drive By Crag) to ourselves.

Just a 2-day weekend. Anyway, Monday was supposed to be significantly chillier at the Red. There were a couple of cars parked at the some of the other crags (e.g., Roadside, Motherload).
