Of course I've heard of those areas! It doesn't take very much effort to know of well known (dare I say, "world class"??) areas. Pick up any climbing rag, watch a video and you'll easily know of these areas. Not to mention crack climbing destinations.

Good question! Answer...anyone...anyone? Well, I have decided that 'B: because I am gainfully employed and I work Monday to Friday,' is not the correct answer. That pretty much leaves 'D: Trick question, I am a dirtbag, and the only reason I know whether it's the weekend or not is that I have more belay bitches for two days.' I'm pretty sure that angry's question was a rhetorical one...he's kinda like Jesus. (answers a question with a question) I'm pretty sure it was Socrates who answered questions with questions, though maybe slightly more passive-aggressively than Jesus would have.

Jesus was an appropriate example, just not the originator, which wasn't CT's point. I got ahead of myself in my initial comment.

I actually used Jesus as my example because angry is a god...a crack climbing god that is. (but not a god with a capitol G)

petsfed wrote: Seriously, what kind of climbing guide doesn't already know this shit? Have you been guiding climbers exclusively in some kind of vacuum wherein you never deal with other climbers? Never read any of the climbing rags? Never heard stories around a campfire about this way rad trad climbing destination? Never seen photos of spectacular splitters and thought to look at the caption below them? In all likelihood, truth_stillfree is a gym climbing guide, so give him a break.

1. first pic is "Welcome to Ol Kentuck," 13a at the Red. 2. Watch it yo, that's my woman yer talking about. And yes, that is New Yosemite. 3. I was looking for a good pic of Rock Wars, couldn't find one; right on! Bottom line is, good cracks exist back east. Yet most easterners still get their asses kicked at the Creek. heh.

camhead wrote: petsfed wrote: ...it makes perfect sense that anykineclimb has not heard of the places you've climbed at (none of which are known for their crack climbing). disagree. hundreds of climbers "know" places like the Red and the New for their crack climbing. Different, and not as concentrated as somewhere like the Creek, but still, excellent cracks nonetheless. Does look different, does look fun. May be "known" for their fine climbing (and the occasional crack), but really not one would think of as a "Crack Climbing Mecca", no? All that aside, I'm wondering if the OP has time to guide me on some climbs at his usual gym crag. What would something like that lighten my pocketbook, and should I include a tip?
