So did we. The cops on the inside of the building with the dead guy on the floor had their guns pointed down the hallway where they 'thought' the shooter was. the cops on the outside said the scene was safe for us to enter.

I'm confused as to if there was 2 baddies or if the other cops had the entrance he was using covered and there was a little blue on blue action...

an additional baddie was my understanding of it. why else would doc be pissed to be told it's ok to tend to a dead guy unless there was another as-yet-not-dead-bad-guy that someone hadn't told them about?

Well, I'd be pretty pissed if some cops shot at me cuz they thought that was the door the baddie was coming in through.

its considered poor form for someone trained in the "legal" use of a firearm to shoot at someone they have not clearly identified.

not to say it doesn't happen, but I'd bet the EMT uniform would be a big clue.

New better job may be on it's way. Interview is sounding more and more like a formality than anything else.

So, if I get this new Jorb I'll have:

The same benefits
At least the same base salary (likely more)
Extra pay while in the field, including expences, lodging, ect. plus per deim (sp?)
2 weeks in the field 2 weeks out (might be 2 in 1 out, I'll ahve to ask at the meeting/interview)
Will be getting paid to ride around on Argo's, Quads, Swamp Buggy type things with big ass tracks, and drve to and from areas in 4x4's
And will be doing a bunch of geophysical/geological Surveys
Two weeks away at work, two weeks away climbing. Sounds good, but the Mrs. isn't going to like it much. Unless she has a BF of course.

So it was the "2nd baddie" option, then?

I don't think I'll be away climbing the whole 2 weeks I'm back. Besides for the first couple years we were together I was doing mostly field work, including a couple 8 weeks at at time stints in the Yukon and NWT. We made it through that just fine.

Seriously though, a #5 Tricam?!
Damn man. Ingenious!

Edited to add:
Hey Mal, if you're ever looking to sponsor a B-rated average climber of average ability, with a masochistic love of new routing in the Great Canadian Chossies. Look me up next time you pass through Calgary.

Honestly, if zomb_E didn't make the B-team what chance do you have? Other than you actually climb.

Yes I actually climb, and I do wear a Trango CPU Helmet with a big TRANGO logo front and back. I use Trango Ball Nuts, and give props to Trango whenever I can. It's a start.

Besides, I can always hope. There's also no Trango B-team in Alberta taht I know of.

Because I could give even more props to Trango with more gear... I have no aspirations to obtain money through any sponsorship from Trango, gear would be kick ass though!
