Personal preference. Basically I looked into the situation where a minitraxion could fail, and determined that in such a case the rope would be damaged. With a microcender above the minitrax, the microcender is the primary device. Both setups are bomber if you use your noggin and don't skip steps.

mini-traxion failure will damage the rope. Failure can be caused by this: 1. failure to tend the slack 2. failure to tend the mini-traxions carabiner
Both are human error related, in my opinion.

Makes sense.

I don''t use my A ropes for this sort of shit anyway. The B ropes take a core shot its all... whatever!
