Got mine yesterday. I bought a crap ton of those 50 count bag-o-holds. For $30-$40 a bag it was actually better than buying online and paying shipping.

I got $600 last year, but only $150 this year. Because I'm a newbie, I spent this year's on a brand-spanking new set-up for rock climbing. Hopefully I made good choices, but even if I didn't...it was free gear.

Hmm.... $100 dividend + $60 in unspent gift cards from xmas + who knows what from the REI Visa = new hiking shoes for my wife while I go spend untold amounts somewhere that has what I actually want. Don't get me wrong; I really like having an REI 10 minutes down the road, but they're rather lacking gear-wise. Sadly the only other option is EMS, which is an order of magnitude worse. Unsure

I was thinking something similar and probably would have ended up spending it on a shirt to wear to work but it looks like they now stock offset master cams...

Yes, everything. But I don't buy all my gear at REI. The stuff I do buy at REI I don't mind paying full price for since they have a fantastic return policy.

Probably going to get either chalk or put it toward some non-cotton underwear, both of which I am lacking at the moment.

No!! You took my crown.

Same here. I pretty much only go there when I receive a gift card from some one. And then of course for the garage sale.

First of all, it was my opinion that it was the clerk you dealt with and that you should have just gone to a different REI. Second, I show solidarity in almost everything. We're not talking about BIG oil companies here. We're talking about a retail company that when compared to anyone else they have very good business practices. The fact that they didn't take back a book that probably wasn't even bought there in the first place, is no reason to expect me to boycott them too Wink

BTW, I love you, honey!!!!Angelic
