That's because he wants to spend less than $100 for a bitchin Trad harness...

Otherwise other harnesses like the MM Cadillac, Yates Bigwall and Yates Shield would have been suggested.

Do any shops in Canada stock these harnesses or is it by mail order only? After a quick search it looks like its mail only?

Wicked Gravity will order any Yates product in withing about a week or two if you are willing to pay the shipping. That's where I ordered my Yates Bigwall, screamers, and now another smaller Yates Bigwall Swami (my current swami out grew me). That's the other cool thing about Yates too... ordering in just the Swami, or mix matching Swami and leg loop sizes, something most other companies have stopped doing.

As for MM harnesses, not sure who in Canada can bring them in.

How about the BD Aspect? There isn't much info on them yet

I own an aspect and it sounds like it is just what the OP is looking for. It is pretty light, has 4 spacious gear loops, and has ice clipper slots. It is well under $100, and I think it is the most versatile harness I have seen.

+1

I got mine for like 60 bucks on sale (don't remember where). It probably isn't as cushy as some of the true big wall harnesses, but its quite comfortable. Its a good blend of comfort without having too much padding.
I wear about a size 33 waist jeans and I bought the small size. The range of waists it will fit is huge. I think i could gain or lose about 30 lbs and it would still fit. I also really like the dual buckles, keeps everything centered.

The belay loop is said to be one of the strongest available. The haul loop tucks away and i usually leave it tucked, i do kinda wish it was in the center though. All the "accessory loops" are spots where the load bearing nylon is bulged out and you can put an ice clipper on biner though. The cool part is they are super strong, you could whip on to them, there are plenty of them too. I use them to tie into anchors sometimes on a sideways belay type deal.
I do wish that the rear loop was wider. Besides that i have no real complaints.

They also make a matching gear sling, get the WC nut tool while you're at it, the clip on the end of the wire fits very nicely into the accessory loops.
